September 10th Report

My son Michael, and his party of 5 arrived in camp Saturday afternoon to bright blue skies and strong east winds. They managed to get geared up and on the water for a couple of hours before dinner and the #1 Ohio State vs. #2 Texas game.

Tras, as my son is known, and his partner ‘Teeny’, caught several nice pike. Both were using 2 3/8" Bagley Balsa B's in Firetiger.

Meanwhile, a third member of the group, Matt Fussner, experienced a follow on a Lindy M/G Spinnerbait. It was tidings of good things to come, as ‘Fuzz’ hooked into and landed, with the help of his partner, Brendan, a 57” (21 ¼” girth) musky while casting, the very next day (today). This is Matt’s first musky, and what a prize! She bottomed out his 30lb. Boga Grip. Pictures are soon to follow. Congratulations, Matthew!

No one told Matt he wasn’t supposed to catch the babes before the tournament, just find out where they live – how’s he going to do it again during the three days of Musky Madness? Stay tuned for developments…
