Legislation called the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative applies to everybody traveling to Canada or Mexico.

As of Jan. 23, 2007, anyone traveling to Canada by Air needs a passport.

You do NOT need a passport to get into Canada if you enter by car.

The earliest you will need a passport if you travel by car is Jan. 2008. However, this could be delayed indefinitely.
