Catch and Release World Record!

Have you heard the news yet? The Catch and Release WORLD RECORD musky was caught in Lake Nippising last year:

The fish measured 58" long, and it's a porker! Caught a relatively short distance from Lunge Lodge, in the lake itself, you've got to wonder if this bad boy traversed the river at one time or another. The secret is out, it was caught on a 10" Jointed Believer.

For more details, check out Drifter Tackle's website (http://driftertackle.com).

That fish was not weighed and no girth measurment taken. C&R records are determined by length, certianly not the longest musky ever caught, but the longest an angler has submitted to the hall in Hayward,WI.
My friend in Sudbury says it was caught in the South Bay area of Nipissing. The potential of a true giant exists anywhere on Nip or the Upper French ( same watershed).
Cleithrum study(determines biological information such as longevity, size at maturity, growth rate, growth potential, ultimate size..) done by Dr. John Casselman in the summer of 05' on Nipissing muskellunge determined that Nipissing musky have an ultimate size potential most closely resembeling the musky in the famed waters of Eagle Lake and Wabigoon Lake of Northwestern Ontario.

Hey Fuzz - based on Jay's comment that only length is considered, you could have applied for the Catch and Release Record! You would have owned it for a few months!
